Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new crossover GLC Coupe. The all-terrain vehicle was refreshed in appearance, expanded the list of standard equipment and added new options.
Slanted headlights of complex shape and a pattern of three-pointed stars on the grille – this is how the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe now looks. The crossover changed generations five and a half months after the GLC in a regular body, albeit in the same way. The drag coefficient decreased from 0.30 to 0.27. The Avantgarde Line package with chrome trim became standard. Wheels can range from 18 to 20 inches in diameter, with plug-in hybrids having different-wide tires.
The interior architecture of the GLC Coupe follows today’s C-Class. A virtual “cleaning” with a diagonal of 12.3 inches is already “in the base”, plus a 11.9-inch central screen deployed to the driver. For a surcharge, a “comfortable” Energizing Plus package is offered. It includes various relaxation programs, multi-contour seats, a two-stage air purification system and a built-in fragrance. The panoramic roof of the cross-coupe is six centimeters longer than that of a conventional crossover.
Announced three plug-in hybrids, one of them diesel. Such machines are equipped with 2.0-liter engines and an electric motor built into the box with a return of 136 forces and 440 Nm. These are the GLC 300 e (313 hp, 550 Nm), GLC 400 e (381 hp, 650 Nm) and GLC 300 de (335 hp, 750 Nm) versions. The most powerful petrol hybrid can accelerate to “hundreds” in 5.6 seconds, diesel – in 6.4 seconds. On electric traction, crossovers travel 113-131 kilometers on the WLPT cycle. Sales in Western Europe will begin this summer.
