From this [washington post article:](https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-solutions/2023/07/07/ev-range-anxiety-battery-myth/)

‘According to [data](https://nhts.ornl.gov/vehicle-trips) from the U.S. Department of Transportation, 95.1 percent of trips taken in personal vehicles are less than 31 miles; almost 60 percent of all trips are less than 6 miles. In total, the average U.S. driver only covers about [37 miles per day](https://www.kbb.com/car-advice/average-miles-driven-per-year/).’

The article states for users wanting that range in their car that they rarely ever use, there is a much higher usage/need of battery minerals, and weight for the batteries.

Do we really need 300 miles in our EV’s? I know cold weather drops it. As one with an EV that i ‘needed’ to get into the upper 200 mile range, how can we shift this mentality? Is it as simple as more/faster charging with lower ranges?
