We are Staying Dark In Protest Of The API Changes And The Disdain Shown By The Admins For Our Concerns

Due to the lack of admin movement on the protest our mods have voted to keep the subreddit dark for an indefinite period. Their disdain has been shown [here](https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/13/23759559/reddit-internal-memo-api-pricing-changes-steve-huffman) in an internal memo. We’ve temporarily set the sub to “restricted” so folk can see this announcement. Our apologies for the disturbance but we feel this protest can enact change that may re-establish the things we love about reddit.

>”…the blackout hasn’t had “significant revenue impact” and that the company anticipates that many of the subreddits will come back online by Wednesday. “There’s a lot of noise with this one. Among the noisiest we’ve seen. Please know that our teams are on it, and like all blowups on Reddit, this one will pass as well…”

One of our mods is directly impacted by the dearth of reddit’s support for the disabled so we are particularly concerned with the lack of response and seemingly unsympathetic attitude exhibited.
