The SpaceX thruster package runs on compressed air, topped up by the same battery you charge at home. Do that with an internal combustion engine and you’d need a jet engine and jet fuel. The stunts are the headline, but the real story is what thrust tech could do for safety: emergency stops on a dime, jumping potholes (the Yangwang U9 already does it), paired with Tesla’s self-driving.
