Buying a rack for heavy electric bikes? One of my e-bikes weighs around 100 pounds, and the other weighs 67 pounds. Finding a rack that can handle them is only part of the challenge—you also need to load them, secure them, and still get into the back of your vehicle.

In this video, I review the Kuat PISTON ION on our Cadillac Escalade and GMC Sierra, covering installation, the included loading ramp, wheel-contact arms, security features, and real-world driving footage.

Then I add the PIVOT XD and show how the entire loaded rack swings away so I can open the Sierra’s tailgate and access the truck bed without unloading either bike.

I also cover the practical considerations: equipment weight, storage, hitch capacity, and the different limitations for on-road, off-road, and RV use. This is a substantial setup, and understanding those details matters before you buy.
