This journey marks my first experience with the Skoda Epiq, a compact new model built on the MEB Plus platform. I am driving from Munich Airport toward Austria to attend the latest Skoda EV lounge meet-up, putting the car through a mix of scenic landscapes and city streets to test its real-world capabilities.

Whether you are curious about the efficiency of the 55kWh setup or simply want to see how the car performs outside of a controlled press event, this electric vehicle road trip offers a practical look at what to expect from this new platform. I am evaluating how the range and handling hold up during a long-distance drive in varied conditions.

Let me know in the comments if you are considering the Epiq for your next car. And stay tuned because there is more to come on the Epiq plus its bigger sibling – the Peaq!

For charging away from home I use the Octopus Electroverse charging card. Sign up via this link for a free £5 credit on charging https://electroverse.octopus.energy/sign-up/magic?referralCode=aglow-prawn-796

I also charge at home using Intelligent Octopus Go, this EV tarriff gives me off peak energy at 7p per kWh for the car and the whole house. It makes charging the cars really cheap.
