In Australia, you don’t need a major automotive show like the upcoming Paris Motor Show to attract the attention of both companies and fans: Everything Electric Sydney does the trick with way less brand power.
According to the organizers, Everything Electric is the world’s number one electric vehicle and home charging expo, a “fun-filled festival of electrification” available in Australia, Europe, the UK, as well as Canada and the United States. Well, the Everything Electric Sydney edition from September 18 through 20 has attracted a lot of attention due to the high concentration of EV automakers display their latest novelties, especially the Chinese manufacturers.
Even before the event kicked off, we knew the all-new MG4 EV Urban was set to arrive at the show with a national cashback offer and additional perks. MG Motor Australia also brings at Everything Electric their subsidiary IM Motors Australia, the premium electric brand showcasing its IM5 sedan and IM6 SUV. Now, here are some of the other major novelties.
Subaru Australia has launched the all-new Trailseeker Sport Electric Vehicle, a tad better equipped for Australian adventures, with the company introducing a locally developed and fully integrated Underfloor Spare Wheel Kit as well as a Genuine Subaru Australia Towbar. The brand is also displaying its entire electrified vehicle range at Everything Electric Sydney at the Sydney Showground – the Uncharted, Solterra, and Trailseeker, plus the Subaru Forester Strong Hybrid.
GAC Australia, the subsidiary of Chinese automaker GAC Motor from Guangzhou, will publicly reveal its S7 SUV for the first time in Australia, “providing a glimpse of the brand’s future lineup.” The new SUV will enter global right-hand-drive production during the second half of 2027, and the premium plug-in-hybrid SUV has two electric motors and a 1.5-turbo gasoline engine along with a 36.3kWh Magazine Battery that can provide an electric range of up to 150 km or 93 miles.
GAC also has the all-electric AION V and AION UT models treated to an expanded range of styling and lifestyle accessories while the M8 PHEV completes the lineup on display as Australia’s only plug-in hybrid MPV. Moving to GWM, aka Great Wall Motor, their all-new Haval H7 debuts at Everything Electric in Sydney, and will go on sale in mid-October 2026, featuring a rugged and boxy design in the competitive mid-size SUV segment.
It will be priced below AU$50k drive-away with hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, both featuring GWM’s Hi4 technology, but full Australian specification, powertrain details, model grades and final pricing is coming a bit later ahead of the official sales start. GWM also showcased the all-new Cannon Hi4-T PHEV pickup truck, positioned as “Australia’s most versatile Ute.” Last but not least, Geely Auto Australia has also previewed the Geely MONJARO EM-i SUV, Emgrand L EM-i sedan and Battleship 700 off-road SUV at Everything Electric Sydney, all set for local launch in early 2027.
