The Toyota Circular Factory | One year of learning

One year after launching in August 2025, Toyota Circular Factory UK has recovered more than 2,000 tonnes of materials, avoided an estimated 2,541 tonnes of CO₂ emissions and continued to explore how end-of-life vehicles can become valuable resources once again.

This documentary reflects on a year of learning, collaboration and progress as the team applies Toyota Production System principles in reverse to recover, reuse and reintegrate materials into the automotive value chain.

Over the past 12 months, the team has achieved significant milestones:
✅ More than 2,000 tonnes of materials recovered and recycled
✅ Team growth from 15 to 26 members
✅ An estimated 2,541 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided
✅Successful reintegration of end-of-life alloy wheels into new engine components
✅ Expansion into plastics, copper, steel and other materials
✅ Industry recognition, including the 2026 Autotrader Drivers’ Choice Award for Sustainability Initiative

Beyond the numbers, this documentary shares the lessons, challenges and achievements behind Toyota Circular Factory UK’s first year and explores what comes next on the journey towards greater automotive circularity.
