The Denza N8L BEV starts at 299,800 yuan ($44,280), adding a new powertrain option to a lineup previously limited to plug-in hybrids.
The all-electric version features a 130.15-kWh second-generation Blade Battery, flash charging and a 208-liter powered frunk.

BYD‘s (HKEX: 1211) premium brand Denza launched the N8L’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) version on Monday, adding a new powertrain option to the large 6-seat SUV previously available only as a plug-in hybrid.

The N8L BEV comes in 2 variants: the Flash Charging Prestige, priced at 299,800 yuan ($44,280), and the Flash Charging Flagship, at 329,800 yuan.

The model features a 130.15-kWh second-generation Blade Battery and an 800-volt architecture. It supports BYD’s flash charging technology and offers a CLTC range of 960 kilometers.

The all-electric N8L uses a single rear-mounted motor producing up to 370 kW (496 hp).

It retains the plug-in hybrid’s dimensions, measuring 5,200 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,820 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,075 mm. It seats 6 in a 2+2+2 layout.

A new 208-liter powered frunk provides additional storage and features a capped drain opening for rinsing, making it easier for families to carry camping gear or items covered in sand and dirt.

The model also features the DiSus-A body control system, including dual-chamber air suspension and CDC dampers. Rear-wheel steering reduces its minimum turning radius to 4.58 meters.

Its LiDAR-equipped God’s Eye 5.0 system supports highway and urban navigation-assisted driving, as well as automated parking.

The N8L was first launched in October 2025, initially available only as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).

Denza replaced the original version with a flash charging plug-in hybrid in June this year, with a starting price of 319,800 yuan. That version features a 75.26-kWh second-generation Blade Battery and a CLTC electric range of 430 kilometers.

The all-electric addition broadens the N8L’s appeal to families with different powertrain preferences, while expanding BYD’s lineup of vehicles featuring its second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology.

At dedicated flash charging stations, compatible BYD vehicles can charge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes and from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes.

BYD had built 10,000 flash charging stations in China as of August 28 and reiterated at the time its plan to reach 20,000 by year-end, according to previous CnEVPost reporting.
