A 10-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter in Fort Bend County.
FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas — A 10-year-old child suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter in Fort Bend County, according to county officials.
The crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday on Roesner Road near Elk Ridge Lane. Multiple emergency crews responded to the scene.

Video from the crash site showed an electric scooter, a pair of shoes and the vehicle involved.
The child was flown by medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment. Additional details about the child’s condition were not immediately available.
As of Thursday night, no charges had been filed against the driver. Authorities have not said what led to the crash.
Officials are urging parents to ensure their children understand how to safely ride electric bikes and scooters, particularly near roadways and around sunset.
