A 38-year-old woman riding an e-bike was killed on Friday, Sept. 4, in a collision with a SUV in Colton.
The crash between the e-bike and the Volvo SUV occurred around 6:50 p.m. near the intersection of 12th Street and East F Street, according to a release from Colton police. When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they immediately began life-saving measures on the woman, later identified as Asandria Jacobo.
Jacobo later died at the hospital.
Following the crash, the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The cause and circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
Jacobo’s family has created a GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses.
“This loss was completely unexpected, and our family is still trying to process the heartbreak of losing someone we love so deeply,” the family shared in the GoFundMe.
