The Driven’s YTD sales data (through August 2026) shows the Tesla Model Y leading Australia’s EV market with 31,454 units sold, followed by the BYD Sealion 7 (17,277), Geely EX5 (10,737), Zeekr 009 (9,172), and Omoda Jaecoo J5 (8,910). By brand, BYD tops the year with 39,302 units, narrowly ahead of Tesla’s 36,051, while Geely (including Zeekr, Volvo, Polestar) claims third with 26,401 โ reflecting how thoroughly Chinese-linked brands now dominate Australia’s fastest-growing vehicle segment.
