MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) – New electric vehicle charging stations are coming to Wisconsin thanks to grant funding, Gov. Tony Evers announced Tuesday.
The governor’s office announced 42 locations across the state will receive grant awards to build electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Wisconsin.
The grant funding comes from the $25 million that Gov. Evers said his administration fought for and secured through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program, which was created by President Joe Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).
More information about the funding can be found here.
The 42 sites selected in the latest round of funding, through the Wisconsin Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (WEVI) Connecting Corridors Program, will be built on U.S. and state highway corridors that were not previously considered for WEVI funding.
The locations of every planned charging station can be found on WisDOT’s EV charging station dashboard, and the 42 grants, as announced Tuesday, are as follows:

WisDOT evaluated a variety of factors when choosing these projects, including location, the potential for future development, availability of pull-through parking spaces to allow for larger EVs, and extended business site hours to accommodate longer refueling times.
