CEDAR RAPIDS — Police said Wednesday that the e-bike rider who died after a collision in northeast Cedar Rapids last week was 54-year-old Thedrick J. Daniels II of Cedar Rapids.
Last Thursday evening, Aug. 13, Daniels was reportedly traveling north on Center Point Road NE and collided with a westbound vehicle on the Highway 100 on-ramp, according to Cedar Rapids police.
Witnesses said he may have been traveling against traffic and ran a red light before striking the driver’s side of the vehicle, according to a news release.
Officers responded to the crash at about 8:40 p.m., found Daniels with serious injuries and began medical treatment. He was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead, according to the release.
