2,000W vs 2,600w E-Bike – Is the Extra 600W REALLY Worth It?
2000W vs 2600W E-Bike – does an extra 600 watts actually make much difference in the real world? ⚡
Today I’m testing the new Kirbebike 52V 2600W e-bike conversion kit against the tried-and-tested 2000W setup to find out what that extra power actually gets you.
We start with two completely different 2000W e-bikes going head-to-head. Same claimed power – but are they actually the same speed? The winner then takes on my new 2600W build on the flat before we head for the hills to see where that extra 600W really starts to make a difference.
The interesting part is that Kirbebike is getting 2600W while staying at 52V, using the more powerful 50A controller and high-current battery. Could this give you some of the punch you’d normally look for from a 60V setup without making the jump to a bigger 60V or 72V conversion?
I also look at whether existing 2000W Kirbebike owners can upgrade to 2600W. Can you simply swap the controller, or could the battery, BMS, connectors and existing motor make it a more involved job than it first appears?
