SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A man was killed in a vehicle vs E-bike crash in Spokane Valley Monday morning.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies responded to initial reports of a vehicle vs bike crash on North Progress Road and East Valleyway Avenue around 8 a.m. Arriving deputies saw the E-bike rider lying on the ground at the intersection. First responders provided life-saving measures at the scene, but the man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to SCSO, initial information indicates a man was driving a GMC Sierra south on Progress while the E-bike rider was heading west on Valleyway. SCSO said neither the truck nor the E-bike stopped at the four-way stop, which resulted in the deadly crash.
SCSO said the driver of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with deputies.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner will release the identity, cause and manner of death for the man who died at a later time.
SCSO said this is an ongoing investigation.
