EAST GRANBY — An e-bike started a fire inside a Bramble Bush Circle residence in East Granby early Sunday morning, an official said.
Firefighters responded to the blaze inside the home’s garage around 1:46 a.m., according to Fire Marshal Kenneth Beliveau.
The “small fire” was quickly extinguished and confined to the e-bike, Beliveau said. The garage sustained smoke damage, he said, but there was no fire extension into the residence.
“The smoke detectors in the home operated and gave the occupants of the home the early warning of the fire which allowed them to leave the home,” Beliveau said.
Beliveau said the house will need to be cleaned before its residents reoccupy it, and no injuries were reported.
