Brand enters competitive 2-wheel market with all-electric offerings

VINFAST PHILIPPINES has officially expanded its portfolio beyond the four-wheeler market with the recent unveiling of three e-motorcycle models here.
Sourced directly from the company’s manufacturing facility in Haiphong, Vietnam, the brand’s debut models are comprised of the Viper, Evo, and Feliz II — each offering distinct features to meet the needs of the brand’s anticipated diverse customer base, according to VinFast e-Motorcycle Philippines Chief Executive Officer Ireneo Fabros.
Offering the sportiest look among the trio is the VinFast Viper. The largest e-scooter in the local VinFast lineup, it features typical scooter styling with sharp lines and angularity. It also comes with a smart keyless start function — the lineup’s premium feature — and is powered by an electric motor paired with one or two 1.5-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. The Viper can reach a top speed of 90kph and deliver range of up to 145 kilometers. The VinFast Viper is priced from P73,900 to P99,300, depending on the package (battery subscription or with one or two battery packs).
Exuding a classic vibe is the VinFast Evo. Sporting a fluid silhouette and a round headlamp, the model is ideal for riders who prefer retro-inspired rides and want to switch to sustainable mobility. Its two-battery configuration can deliver a range of up to 150km. The VinFast Evo is priced from P62,900 to P88,300.
Lastly, the VinFast Feliz II is designed for everyday commuting, combining sleek lines with flowing curves. Powered by the same electric powertrain found in the Viper, the model can also reach a top speed of 90kph and travel up to 145km when equipped with two battery packs.
During an interview, Mr. Fabros said the company’s aspiration is to become the top motorcycle brand in the country by surpassing the sales volume of distributors offering internal combustion engine (ICE)-powered motorcycles.
He noted that around 70% of the two million motorcycles sold in the country last year were automatic transmission models, and added, “Our target is to convert ICE motorcycle users to electric vehicles.” The executive expressed confidence in achieving this goal, revealing that the company has already received “thousands” of reservations for the models since opening order books last June.
The three VinFast e-motorcycles are now on display at the company’s 21 newly opened showrooms nationwide, with more outlets expected to open in the coming months.
As part of its efforts to address concerns regarding battery usage and compatibility, VinFast e-Motorcycle Philippines has started rolling out battery-swapping stations, with plans to establish as many as 30,000 nationwide. These facilities will complement the brand’s home-charging solutions while providing the necessary infrastructure to support the growing adoption of electric motorcycles.
“Opening 21 VinFast showrooms alongside the launch of our three electric motorcycle models reflects VinFast’s long-term investment commitment to the Philippines. Beyond offering products that meet diverse mobility needs, we are building a comprehensive ecosystem that (will make it) easier for customers to access our vehicles, energy solutions, and support services throughout their ownership journey,” VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market Managing Director Vo Thi Cam Tu said.
“As our electric mobility ecosystem continues to expand, we believe electric motorcycles can become an increasingly practical and convenient choice in the everyday lives of Filipinos,” she added.
