Forget BYD Sealion 6: Geely Starray EM-i Extended Range 2027 Review

Geely launched the Starray earlier this year in two trims and has already updated its plug-in hybrid (PHEV) family SUV, now boasting up to 136km (WLTP) driving range, mild suspension changes and extra equipment for a modest upcharge; the Starray EM-i is even more agreeable.

Compared to rivals like the BYD Sealion 6, Chery Tiggo 7, Mitsubishi Outlander and Volkswagen Tiguan plug-in hybrids, the Starray EM-i now has greater WLTP electric range.

Road test editor John Law gets behind the wheel of the new Starray EM-i Inspire Extended Range, to see if the improvements add up compared to the original Inspire Chasing Cars ran as a long-term test car.
