Mercedes can build a good EV! (2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric Review)

Rebooted on a brand new modular MMA platform that offers front-centric hybrid and rear-biased all-electric drive, Mercedes-Benz’s revolutionised third-generation CLA finally appears to finally have become a proper luxury coupe-sedan.

Here in review are the all-electric versions. It launched in Australia in single-motor rear-drive CLA 200 guise (from $72,200) and tops out with the CLA 350 4Matic, featuring dual-motor all-wheel drive (from $91,300).

Both feature 800-volt architecture, with the 200 offering 165kW/335Nm with 470kms (WLTP) of range, while the big-battery dual-motor version packs 260kW/515Nm and promises up to 663km (WLTP) of driving.
