
The figures of passenger cars purchased in the Midlands has risen.
Ireland has become what analysts are calling an “EV-first” market, with electric cars overtaking every other engine type in new vehicle sales.
The latest figures show battery electric vehicles now account for more than a quarter of all new registrations.
Buyer interest is also growing, with EV-related searches on DoneDeal up almost 69% compared to this time last year.
The figures of passenger cars purchased in the Midlands has risen also, in Laois it rose by 8%, in Westmeath it climbed by 7% and Offaly seen an increase of 5%.
Paddy Comyn Head of content and communications for DoneDeal says the development of new charging points needs to be accelerated.
