One person was killed and a second person was injured in a collision in Burbank involving an electric motorcycle and a sedan, police said Wednesday.
The crash was reported at about 11 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Alameda Avenue and Hollywood Way, according to the Burbank Police Department.
Both riders were ejected, suffered serious injuries and were taken to a trauma center, according to Lt. Brent Fekety.
A male victim was pronounced dead at the hospital and a female was listed in critical condition, he said. Their names and ages were not immediately released.
The driver of the sedan stopped and cooperated with investigators and did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Fekety said, adding the e-bike operator was traveling excessively fast when the crash occurred, according to preliminary findings.

“As electric mobility devices become more popular, the Burbank Police Department encourages parents and riders to understand the laws governing these devices, wear appropriate safety gear, obey traffic laws, and ride responsibly,” according to a police statement.
