Electrified mobility continues to grow in the Canary Islands. Car brands are constantly diversifying their ranges to cater for different needs and driver profiles. Against this backdrop, MG Canarias, part of the Canaauto Group, is adding two new models to its range: the MGS9 PHEV, a seven-seater plug-in hybrid SUV, and the MG4 EV Urban, a fully electric compact car.

Two vehicles with very different approaches, but with the same objective: to offer new alternatives to move towards more efficient mobility. The MG4 Urban features a compact design and is fully electric. Its size is designed to facilitate city driving, although its performance also makes it suitable for inter-city journeys.

Alejandro Morales, head of sales at MG Canarias Tenerife, explains that this is a vehicle designed for those seeking versatility across different types of journeys: “It is a 100 per cent electric compact car aimed at customers looking for versatility, for both urban and inter-city travel, thanks to its technology and electric range.”

The sales manager at MG Canarias also highlights the model’s technological features and safety systems. “The key features of the MG4 EV Urban are that it comes as standard with all the latest technologies and active safety features found in any high-performance vehicle,” notes Morales.

The MGS9 PHEV is the brand’s first model with seven full-size seats and is designed for those who need space for both passengers and luggage, as well as for leisure activities. “It is a vehicle with seven usable seats and ample space for those who, due to their family size, require plenty of room, or who need a large load capacity when the vehicle is not fully occupied. Designed for sports enthusiasts and people who enjoy making the most of their free time.”

The SUV also prioritises features and comfort; it can be fitted with a 360-degree camera, a panoramic roof, an electric tailgate and wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. “It’s a very well-equipped vehicle, featuring the latest technology in both active and passive safety,” emphasises Morales.

Two models representing two different approaches to electrified mobility. A plug-in hybrid SUV for those who need space, seven seats and a long-range battery for long journeys, and a compact electric car aimed at those seeking an efficient and practical alternative for everyday use. The brand’s strategy is to expand the options available to drivers and make new mobility technologies more accessible. “MG has utilised its range of vehicles, both electric and plug-in hybrid, to make sustainable mobility affordable for all families,” says Morales.

With the arrival of the MGS9 PHEV and the MG4 EV Urban, MG Canarias continues to expand its range of electrified vehicles on the islands, which also includes hybrid and petrol models. Those interested can find out more about both models and book a test drive through the MG Canarias sales network. “We would like to take this opportunity to invite all our customers to visit the Canauto Group, specifically MG Canarias, and try out our entire range of vehicles,” concludes Alejandro Morales.
