The investigation led to the discovery of about 40 LSD tabs, a digital scale, a large psilocybin mushroom, two glass pipes containing suspected controlled substance residue, and an open bottle of vodka, according to police.
“This incident is a perfect example of what we mean when we talk about ‘looking beyond the car stop,’” the department said in a statement. “Alert, proactive officers who are observant, inquisitive, and who conduct themselves within the guidelines of the law can uncover criminal activity that might otherwise go undetected. This is only one example of good, solid police work.”
