BALDWINSVILLE — A woman riding an e-bike was killed early Friday morning when she was struck by a vehicle in Baldwinsville, deputies said.

The vehicle was traveling north on Route 48 (Syracuse Street) just after 3:30 a.m. when the e-bike, traveling south against traffic, veered into the driving lane, according to Thomas Newton, a spokesperson for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.

The e-bike and the vehicle collided, Newton said.

Multiple people called 911 to report the crash, according to Onondaga County 911 Center dispatches.

The e-bike rider, a woman, was dead when deputies arrived at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured, deputies said. The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Route 48 between Tappan and Grove streets was closed for hours. It reopened at about 10 a.m., according to a Department of Transportation alert.
