The 2026 Mercedes GLC 300e Coupe is usually reviewed for its style, but the real story is what everyone misses: it hides one of the most capable plug-in hybrid systems on sale. It pairs a 2.0-litre turbo engine with a powerful electric motor for around 313 horsepower, and crucially offers about 54 miles of pure electric range, more than any other plug-in hybrid currently on sale. It can also DC rapid charge (10-80% in around 20 minutes), something almost no other plug-in hybrid can do, so it runs like an EV for daily driving with petrol freedom for long trips, from around $60,300.
