CHAOS, LAWLESSNESS, & DESTRUCTION: Teens on Electric Motorcycles are the ‘New Hells Angels’
A year ago, I reported on the growing problem of teens riding recklessly on E-motos, encouraged and spurred on by social media influencers who show how “cool and funny” it is to engage in such idiotic and dangerous riding. The resulting negative public perception, negative media coverage, and negative police attention were all bad developments for fans of E-motos (like me) who ride responsibly.
Well, now a year later, the problem has gotten exponentially worse. In fact, I’ve coined 2026 “The Year the Sh*t Has Hit The Fan for the E-Moto community.”
Every week, new negative news stories come out with more cases of mostly 12-16 year olds riding their e-motos like complete imbeciles – and the negative consequences from that.
Only now, those negative consequences – at least in a few cases – have resulted in loss of life for both the riders and pedestrians they hit.
In this video, I go over the major news stories so far in 2026 (and we’re only half way through the year!), the messed-up financial incentive for social media influencers to make content glorifying stupid, dangerous and illegal riding, the history of the Surron and E-Motos, and ideas for possible solutions to this exponentially-growing problem.
I dedicate this video to the memory of Vietnam war hero Ed Ashman.
