A 13-year-old on an e-bicycle was seriously hurt in a crash with a vehicle in Swanton, Vermont, on Tuesday afternoon.
State police say they were called to the collision, which occurred on Hog Island Road, around 12:40 p.m. and found the youth, who was on an Actbest electric bike, with serious injuries.
A preliminary investigation shows Erin Blake, 42, of Fairfax, was driving a Toyota BZ4X south on Hog Island Road when the e-bike rider entered the roadway from a driveway on the west side. The juvenile e-bicyclist was life flighted to the University of Vermont Medical Center and is expected to survive, police added. Blake wasn’t injured.
