I did NOT expect this. Welcome back to GawneIn60Seconds! Today we are taking a first look and drive of the brand-new MG S9 7-seater PHEV, and to be completely honest, it has absolutely blew me away.

When you think of a budget-friendly 7-seat family SUV starting around £34k, you expect some obvious corner-cutting. But MG has completely flipped the script here. From the second you step inside, this feels less like a budget cruiser and more like a first-class lounge. We’re talking a massive dual 12.3-inch screen setup, heated, ventilated, and massaging seats, a panoramic opening glass roof, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.

But how does it actually drive? With 299 HP under the bonnet from its plug-in hybrid setup and a massive 62 miles of pure electric range, it is incredibly plush, quiet, and refined on the road. Is this the ultimate family SUV disruptor? Let’s find out…..
