(CNN) – Hyundai is recalling more than 421,000 vehicles over a software issue that could cause the brakes to activate unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall covers certain Hyundai Santa Cruz, Tucson, Tucson Hybrid and Tucson Plug-in Hybrid vehicles.
The model years are 2025 and 2026.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said there have been four crashes linked to the issue.
Four people were injured in those crashes, the agency said.
Owners will be notified by mail in mid-July.
Owners can take their vehicle to a Hyundai dealership where they will receive a free software update.
