Peugeot Polygon Concept l Design Stories l Episode 4

What if you never had to turn the wheel the way you do today? That is not hypothetical. It is Hypersquare® in #PeugeotPolygonConcept, and it changes everything about how driving feels.

In this episode, Matthias Hossann (Head of Peugeot Design), Guillaume Lemaitre (Interior Advanced Design Lead) and Xavier Durand (Interior Designer) take you through the innovative principles behind the main control device of the car.

Paired with steer-by-wire technology, Hypersquare® makes driving instinctive in a way it has never been before. No mechanical link between the wheel and the road — just pure electronic control that responds to the driver with extraordinary precision. It is, as the team describe it, a genuine revolution.

The familiar functions are all still there, just reinvented, redesigned and repositioned. Arranged across four spheres, they fall naturally under the driver’s thumbs. Upper spheres for driving controls, lower spheres for cabin, interior and connectivity. Each hierarchy is fully programmable to suit the driver’s needs.

As soon as the team tested it, the agility was undeniable. Perfectly aligned with what Peugeot has always stood for: a driving experience that is sharper, more responsive, and more alive than anything that came before.
