Peugeot Polygon Concept l Design Stories l Episode 2
What does driving pleasure look like when you strip a car back to its simplest possible form? That question is at the heart of #PeugeotPolygonConcept.
In this episode, Matthias Hossann (Head of Peugeot Design), Guillaume Lemaitre (Interior Advanced Design Lead), Max Ziegler and Antonin Maire d’Eglise (Exterior Designers), Xavier Durand and William Dufour (Interior Designers), and Léa Cochet (Colour & Trim Designer) reveal the philosophy behind designing the Peugeot Polygon Concept.
The name says it all. Polygon, a simple shape. That simplicity became the foundation of the entire design process: strip everything back to its essence while keeping the attitude, the feline posture, the forward-leaning energy that is unmistakably Peugeot.
It started as a sketch competition: something young, full of energy, with no fixed answer. What followed was a creative back-and-forth between designers and engineers: challenging each other, pushing the limits, constantly testing new ideas. A ping-pong, as the team describe it – intense, fast, and genuinely fun.
The result is a car that explores what a new kind of driving pleasure can be. Versatile, customisable, alive with possibility. Because ultimately, a car is an object of freedom — and freedom should never be dull.
