810km Range, 16-Minute Charging | Can the EX60 Dominate Australia’s EV Market?

The new Volvo EX60 is the all-electric mid-size SUV taking over from the XC60, and it lands in Australia from around $90,000.

Built on Volvo’s new SPA3 platform with 800V architecture, the EX60 promises up to 810 km of WLTP range, 10 to 80 percent DC charging in as little as 16 minutes, and a world-first multi-adaptive seatbelt system.

Three variants are confirmed at launch. The P6 RWD pairs an 83 kWh battery with 620 km of range. The P10 AWD steps up to 95 kWh and 660 km. The flagship P12 AWD runs a 117 kWh battery and stretches to 810 km.

Inside, the EX60 introduces Volvo’s new HuginCore software, Google built in with Gemini AI, a 14.5 inch landscape touchscreen, and what Volvo claims is its quietest cabin ever. No glove box. No head up display. A few interior Easter eggs we did not expect.

In this full carsales review or should we say first hands on. We walk through the design, the technology, the three powertrains, the safety story, and the Australian price ladder. We also stack the EX60 against the Zeekr 007X to answer the only question that really matters. Is the new Volvo EX60 worth $90,000 in Australia, or is the Chinese challenger about to make it look overpriced?
