Peugeot Polygon Concept l Design Stories l Episode 1
Why do concept cars exist? To test new ideas, provoke reactions — and help define the responsible automotive solutions of tomorrow.
This is the first of eight episodes taking a deep dive into designing the Peugeot Polygon Concept. Matthias Hossann (Head of Peugeot Design), Guillaume Lemaitre (Interior Advanced Design Lead), Léa Cochet (Colour & Trim Designer) and Sébastien Criquet (Exterior Advanced Design Lead) open up about the process.
Everything started from scratch — from the first sketch to the finished vehicle, every single part was designed specifically for this car. The team explored new materials and new manufacturing processes with one guiding question: how do you create something simpler, lighter and more responsible without making it any less desirable?
The answer was to strip things back. Interchangeable components. Single-piece parts. Fewer elements, chosen deliberately. Simplicity not as a compromise, but as a design philosophy.
The result carries everything that makes a Peugeot a Peugeot — the dynamic, leaping stance, the playfulness, the emotional charge. A car that adapts to people’s needs. A car built for tomorrow, but exciting right now.
