Ever wished you could silence an overbearing co‑driver? With BMW Symbiotic Drive, you can.

Introduced in the BMW iX3, BMW Symbiotic Drive with the Highway Assistant function represents a new approach to driver assistance: supportive, cooperative and always centred around the driver.

The system provides longitudinal and lateral vehicle guidance, supports automated lane changes with visual confirmation, and offers proactive lane change suggestions based on route guidance. On suitable highways, the driver can take their hands off the steering wheel, when indicated by the system and while remaining attentive and responsible at all times.

Unlike intrusive assistance systems, BMW Symbiotic Drive is designed to work with the driver, enhancing comfort, confidence and control on every journey.
