A Jefferson, New York man was arrested for allegedly causing damages at two vehicles at a Tesla dealership in Westbury.

On May 10 at 10:15 a.m., Travis Dubshinski, 39, entered the Tesla Motors showroom, located at 1350 Corporate Drive, and allegedly demanded that the staff return a hard drive containing cryptocurrency to him. The staff, who had never seen Dubshinski before, informed him that they could not help him. The defendant became irate and left the store.

He then went to his car, a 2011 white Mazda, and allegedly retrieved an ice scraper. He allegedly used the ice scraper to cause $3,800.00 worth of damage to two Tesla vehicles in the lot of the dealership. He then fled the scene in his vehicle and was stopped a short time later by police at Corporate Drive and Merrick Avenue, where he was placed into custody without further incident.

POlice charged Dubshinski with Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. He will be arraigned on May 11 at First District Court in Hempstead.
