Tesla continues to expand its lifestyle ecosystem for the modern adventurer, this time focusing on the solo traveler. The company has officially launched a new single-person inflatable air mattress for the Model Y, currently available through the Chinese Tesla Shop. While Tesla previously released a two-person Model Y air mattress priced at $225 USD in 2024, this new variant is tailored for those who want to activate “Camp Mode” alone without sacrificing their entire trunk.
Optimized for Solo Camping
The single-person mattress is designed to maximize utility for the solo camper. By using just one folded second-row seat and the trunk, a single person can “easily activate ‘Comfort Mode’” to enjoy a nap or relieve fatigue. This layout is particularly useful because it allows a solo traveler to maintain a significant portion of their cargo space for gear, while keeping one of the second-row seats upright if needed.

Retailing for ¥659 (roughly $99 USD), the package is a complete kit. It includes the inflatable mat, a storage bag, an air pump, and an adapter. Tesla claims that with the included air pump, inflation is expected to be completed in just 20 seconds, while deflation takes around 70 seconds. The air pump plugs into a standard 12V cigarette lighter-style plug. You can find a 12V plug on the left-rear side of your Model Y, near the trunk, and above the side-trunk storage. Once deflated, the entire set fits neatly into the lower storage space of the vehicle’s trunk.

Premium Design and Materials
Tesla hasn’t skimped on the build quality for this portable bed. The mattress features high-density foam padding that is 8 cm thick (about 3.1 inches) to create a soft touch. According to the product description, the internal filling is high-density PU foam, while the surface is made of a TPU elastic fabric and polyester material, making it both durable and “silky smooth..”
The physical dimensions come in at 193 x 76 x 8 cm (about 76 × 30 × 3.1 inches), weighing in at 4.59 kg. This size ensures it fits perfectly along the contours of the Model Y interior. However, it is worth noting that this specific product is not compatible with the new Model Y L, though it works with other Model Y variants equipped with 12V and 16V batteries.
Will it Come to North America?
As of now, there is no official word on when (or if) this single-person mattress will be available in other regions like North America or Europe. Tesla often launches lifestyle accessories in China first before bringing them to the global market, similar to how the CyberVault or various storage organizers were handled.
Given that the larger two-person version is already a staple in the U.S. shop, it seems highly likely that the single-person variant will eventually make its way across the ocean. For solo adventurers who prefer sleeping in their car over a tent, this could be the perfect addition to their kit once it finally drops locally.
