The BMW iX3 is the first vehicle of the Neue Klasse and utilises BMW Intelligence in a next-generation platform to redefine electric mobility. With this platform we introduced BMW Symbiotic Drive, a new generation of driver assistance systems powered by advanced sensor technology and a centralised software architecture. Driven by BMW Operating System X, this next-generation centralised software platform delivers 20 times the computing power of previous generations, enabling advanced driver assistance functions and seamless interaction between vehicle and driver.
A core feature is the BMW Highway Assistant, enabling hands-free driving on suitable highway and when indicated by the system, subject to market availability and legal regulations. The driver must remain attentive and ready to intervene; the system reduces workload and improves the driving experience without replacing the driver, making for a relaxed drive on long highways.
Dynamic stability and precise control are maintained by BMW Dynamic Performance Control, which optimises traction and handling. Through BMW Symbiotic Drive, light steering or braking inputs are possible without immediately switching the Assisted Driving off. This ensures the BMW iX3 retains its characteristic BMW driving feeling, allowing for a balanced, confident driving experience.
