COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — The Collier County Sheriff’s Office said a Tesla crashed into an apartment complex early Friday morning after the driver refused to stop for deputies and led them on a pursuit in Collier County.
Deputies said they attempted to pull over the Tesla around 2:30 a.m. in the area of Collier Boulevard and Golden Gate Parkway. Instead of stopping, the driver allegedly fled, and deputies pursued them.
After a one-mile pursuit, the Tesla crashed through a metal fence and into a residential building at 4518 Coral Palms Lane. Both occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.
Deputies caught the female occupant, identified as Vanessa Wagenman. The male driver remains at large as deputies continue to search for him.
Authorities said no one inside the residence was injured during the crash.
