Nissan Motor Company has unveiled two new NEV SUV concept cars at the Auto China 2026. This two products highlights Nissan’s “significant step in its accelerated product rollout, and highlighting China’s role as one of the company’s lead markets and a global innovation and export hub supporting long term growth.” Nissan presented two concept SUVs, including the Urban SUV PHEV Concept and the Terrano PHEV concept.

Nissan Terrano Concept Design

This concept marks the return of an iconic nameplate, the Nissan Terrano. Equipped with the latest plug-in hybrid technology, the Terrano builds on Nissan’s off-road heritage while addressing the dual needs of outdoor adventure and urban commuting.

Nissan has confirmed that the production version of the Terrano concept will be unveiled within one year. The company also plans to introduce three additional NEV models in China within a year.

In the new avatar, the Nissan Terrano previews a boxy shaped, rugged-looking SUV with off-road elements. It has rugged body cladding, massive lower bumper, large glass areas and simple surfaces. Design seems inspired from the Land Rover Defender, specifically from the rear side. It gets a flat rear with a tailgate-mounted spare wheel wrapped in a thick bar works as a connector between LED tail-lights.

Urban SUV PHEV Concept

This concept is designed for young Chinese customers. Its design draws from philosophies of the NX8 and Nissan’s future SUV lineup, blending advanced electrification technology with urban daily driving performance.
