"It's smart to buy a car with a future!" – DeSoto Airflow advertisement

The shorter, midrange version of the more famous Chrysler Airflow was the DeSoto Airflow, which was sold for the 1934-1936 model years. Sales for both brands' Airflows were low, so Chrysler launched both its own Airstream and a DeSoto Airstream in 1935. These less radical-looking cars outsold the Airflows, which were discontinued. A brown Airflow SE sedan was on display in the streamliner gallery when I visited the Toyota Automobile Museum in Nagakute City (near Nagoya, Japan).
