Volvo’s EV game is at a new level with the 2027 EX60
Volvo’s most advanced electric vehicle yet. The new 2027 Volvo EX60 comes in strong with its new SPA3 platform that offers some seriously competitive specs. The top P12 AWD trim will do 400 miles on a single charge thanks to a large 112kWh (usable) battery pack and given the 670 horsepower performance figure and the 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds, that’s some pretty impressive efficiency. Volvo also deserves some credit for the excellent packaging to fit the large battery pack while still offering a decent front trunk and a low non-intrusive floor for passengers.
Charging is also very quick at 370KW, allowing up to 173 miles of range from a brief 10 minute charge. 10-80% will take either 16 minutes on the P6 and P10 trims, or 19 minutes on the P12 trim.
The exterior is distinctly Volvo and resembled its gas counterpart, the XC60 but without a front grill. The interior is modernized with next-generation tech and a minimalist design. The curved display is interesting, as is built-in Google Gemini, but I do wish that the climate controls weren’t baked into the screen though, which includes controlling the direction of the air flow.
The model featured in this clip is the P10 spec with 322 miles of range, which Volvo expects to be the volume trim.
Production for the P6 & P10 trim starts next week (late April) with P12 starting in the summer so you can expect to see these on dealer lots as early as this summer. While final pricing is not yet available, Volvo is aiming for well-equipped P6 model to start around $60,000 – which is just below the price of the PHEV version of the XC60.
