Can Chinese Hybrids Last Long-Term? (Omoda 9 Super-Hybrid 2026 Review)
The Omoda 9 is a medium-to-large SUV that is on sale in Australia with a price of $61,990 before on-road costs, for the sole, top-spec Virtue grade with a plug-in hybrid system.
A sibling vehicle to the Chery Tiggo 9 and Jaecoo J8, this SUV offers just two rows of seats instead of three, but promises a more luxurious and spacious approach to everyday life.
This plug-in hybrid also boasts an electric range of almost 170km, incredible performance from its tri-motor setup and genuine comfort from its adaptive dampers.
But what’s it like to live with long-term, and can it actually achieve these claims? Chasing Cars production specialist Tom Place investigates during his three-month tenure.
