MONKEY JUNCTION, N.C. (WECT) – A 24-year-old e-bike rider was killed in a crash on Carolina Beach Road on Tuesday evening.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol announced Athanasios Papoulias died in the crash, which happened around 7:45 p.m.
Highway Patrol said Papoulias failed to yield while crossing the road and was struck by a Honda Ridgeline.
No other injuries were reported. The family of the deceased has been notified, according to Highway Patrol.
Southbound lanes were closed on Carolina Beach Road just south of the intersection at Piner Road before reopening around 9 p.m.

All roads have reopened following the crash.
