A 77-year-old man was badly hurt Tuesday when he crashed an electric bicycle on an Oak Park-area street, authorities reported.
The bicyclist, who was not wearing a safety helmet, fell off the motorized two-wheeler in the 2100 block of Euclid Avenue and struck his head on the pavement at about 9:45 a.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.
Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment of serious but non- life-threatening injuries, including subdural hematomas and a facial bone fracture, police said.
