March brought a sharp month on month surge in BEV registrations, while volumes stayed below last year, revealing surprising shifts between new and used buyers.
In March, sales of electric vehicles in Ukraine rose, with demand for BEVs increasing by a substantial 88% compared with February.
According to the Association of Ukrainian Automotive Manufacturers (Ukrautoprom), published on their Telegram channel, the monthly BEV volume was 2,021 units.
“Last month, the Ukrainian vehicle fleet was replenished by 2,021 BEV units. Relative to March of last year, demand for electric cars fell by 63%, and compared with February 2026 it rose by 88%”

The total number of registered electric vehicles for the month was 1,910 passenger cars: of them, new – 227 units, used – 1,683.
Among the 111 registered commercial electric vehicles, only 15 were new.

Among the new ones: BYD Leopard 3 – 34 units, Zeekr 001 – 30 units, BYD Sea Lion 06 – 30 units, Volkswagen ID. Unyx – 21 units, Volkswagen ID.4 – 19 units.
Among used: Nissan Leaf – 226 units, Tesla Model Y – 212 units, Tesla Model 3 – 210 units, Renault Zoe – 101 units, KIA Niro – 100 units.
In February 2026, Ukrainians bought 1,074 electric cars, which is 2.7 times fewer than in January, and four times fewer than a year ago.
Such data indicate growing interest in electric vehicles in Ukraine.
