Vicki Butler-Henderson gets behind the wheel of the all-new BMW iX3, the first model in BMW’s next-generation EV line-up. With a claimed range of up to 500 miles, the iX3 represents a major step forward for BMW’s electric cars.
This first drive review covers everything you need to know, including performance, range, interior technology and real-world drivability.
The iX3 also introduces BMW’s new design approach, known as Neue Klasse (New Class), bringing a fresh look inside and out. Inside the cabin, a new panoramic iDrive display and control system combines multiple functions into one streamlined interface.

The car is fitted with Pirelli P Zero E tyres, featuring Pirelli’s Elect technology, designed specifically for electric vehicles.
