WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A 14-year-old girl is in critical condition after being struck by a motorcycle while she was riding an electric skateboard in West Palm Beach on Wednesday night.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office crash report, the motorcycle was traveling westbound at 9396 Pinion Drive at 10:06 p.m. when it collided with the girl, who was heading east on an electric skateboard.
Officials said that both the motorcyclist and the pedestrian were immediately transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center as trauma alerts due to the severity of their injuries.
In a follow-up at the hospital, it was reported that the motorcycle driver sustained minor injuries.

However, the report states that the girl remains in critical condition. Medical staff informed authorities that she is currently unconscious and intubated in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
At this time, authorities said that it is unknown if the girl was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
