They keep telling us EV demand is surging.

They keep telling us drivers are rushing towards electric.

But when you actually look at the fastest-selling used cars in March, the picture looks very different.

In this video, I break down the latest fastest-selling used car data and ask a very simple question:

If EVs are supposedly becoming the obvious choice, why are 9 out of 10 of the fastest-selling used cars in March petrol — and the only EV in the list is brand new?

That completely changes the story.

Because this is not a list dominated by used EVs.
It is a list dominated by small petrol cars — the very cars buyers turn to when they want something affordable, practical, lower-risk, and easy to live with.

So what does that tell us?

It suggests that when real buyers are spending real money in the real world, many are still choosing small petrol cars over used EVs.

In this video I look at:

why small petrol cars are still flying out
why used EVs are missing from the sharp end of the market
why the one EV in the chart being brand new matters
whether this completely undermines the “everyone wants an EV” narrative
and what this says about actual buyer confidence in the used car market

Because if fuel prices, running costs, and household budgets are putting pressure on people, and buyers are still choosing small petrol cars instead of used EVs, then that tells you something very important.

The headlines may say one thing.
The market may be saying something else entirely.
