The Toyota CS&S (Compact Sports & Specialty) is a hybrid mid-engine 2+2 open-top sports car concept first unveiled at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show.

It featured the Hybrid Synergy Drive system, combining a mid-mounted 1.5L petrol engine (driving the rear wheels) with an electric motor (driving the front wheels), making it an all-wheel-drive sports car.

A unique 2+2 seating configuration where the rear seats could be covered by a canopy to transform it into a sleek two-seater.

One of its most futuristic elements was a holographic projection interface. Instead of physical buttons, drivers could "touch" air-projected icons to control the audio, climate, and navigation systems.

Positioned in size between the Celica and the MR2 of that era.

It featured a multi-functional hardtop that could cover the front, the back, or both, allowing for various open-air driving configurations.

While the CS&S never reached production, many of its hybrid performance concepts were later explored in vehicles like the Toyota TS040 Hybrid race car.
